Artist Background

My passion for creativity began as a child dabbling in all different types of craftwork. My first serious love of art began with ceramics. My arts practice has gone on a journey from decorative painting, and realism to experimenting with impressionism and abstraction. I also enjoy creating and experimenting with mixed media collage which encompasses the eclectic use of bits n’ pieces of fabric scraps, dyed lace, trims, buttons, beads, knitting yarns, and ribbons with my favourite theme relating to Alice in Wonderland.

Over the last year, I have returned to concentrate on my ceramic work. The work is developed mainly through slip casting and hand building. I enjoy the process of manipulating and carving the clay to my desired shape or design, and then bringing it to life with paint and glaze. Taking many hours hand painting involves layering of colour and pattern with each piece undergoing several firings, evolving into a one off unique expression of art.

My hope is that the buyer loves their unique hand painted piece of art as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
